Creating a new permanent home for BBC Worldwide by the refurbishment of the current “Stage 6” building on Wood Lane.
- BBC Worldwide is a fast growing and increasingly significant part of the BBC business as it sells the BBC’s programmes to a global market
- Currently BBC Worldwide is based in the Media Village but needs its own headquarters; bringing everyone under one roof and providing space to grow. Currently BBC Worldwide is spread across multiple sites
- The refurbishment of the Stage 6 building creates the opportunity for BBC Worldwide to have a prominent position on Wood Lane
- BBC Worldwide will take a long lease for Stage 6 building from 2015 using the space as office accommodation
- The refurbished Stage 6 building will provide office space for 1,380 BBC employees
