Welcome to the Television Centre website
Television Centre (TVC) has a special place in the heart of the nation - the forecourt and
famous wall of Studio 1 are well known as they have been featured regularly on our screens
over the last 6 decades. We are entering a new episode in the life of Television Centre.
In 2012, a new partnership was formed between the BBC and Stanhope Plc, a property company
with over 30 years experience, to breathe new life into TVC. This has now been formalised
through the creation of Television Centre Developments Ltd, a joint venture between Stanhope
and the BBC to lead the redevelopment of TVC.
The Partnership has a shared vision for TVC, which consists of:
- A new home for BBC Worldwide
- Refurbishing of three studios for continued programme-making including audience shows, creating a new home for BBC Studios and Post Production
- Preserving the listed buildings on the site and the famous forecourt view
- Opening up the site to the public reconnecting Television Centre into the local area
- New contemporary workspace will introduce opportunities for business and employment on the site
- A range of new homes, a hotel and leisure uses by conversion of existing buildings and within new buildings
We have been implementing a comprehensive progamme of consultation with local residents and
business groups as well as two public exhibitions. The first was held in in early February
2013 to launch our vision and plans for TVC; the second, which has just concluded, provided
more details prior to the submission of a planning application. Both exhibitions were very
well attended and we received some very positive feedback from residents.

Your comments and suggestions are very helpful in developing our ideas for the future. We
have produced slightly different Response Forms for each exhibition, reflecting the differing
emphasis and content.
